TCU 62 @ TEXAS TECH 42

It’s over.
TCU’s 21-game losing streak in the Big 12 came to an emphatic end as the Horned Frogs powered their way past Texas Tech in Lubbock.
What made it more impressive is that the Frogs did what they failed to do in almost every other conference game up to this point – play well at the end. Leading 24-14 at halftime, they held the Red Raiders to only one field goal for the first 7 1/2 minutes of the first half to push that lead to 38-21 and make no doubt they were not going to leave with another loss.
Granted, it was a game between two teams that came in looking for their first conference win of the season. But given that the Frogs never tasted victory at all in the Big 12 in 2014, any step forward for Trent Johnson’s program has to be viewed as a positive.
Suddenly, for the moment at least, this has gone from a team that couldn’t figure out how to win games down the stretch to a team that has a win along with games where they held their own against an incredibly tough conference that has seen eight teams be ranked in the top 25 at some point this season.
