SMU 50 @ CINCINNATI 56
SMU did get another great start in their second AAC game, but ultimately did not have enough to fend off one of the tough opponents hay will have to deal with.
Cincinnati was ultimately able to wear down the Mustangs, rallying from an early eight-point deficit to lead by as many as 10 with four minutes to go and eventually hold off SMU in Cincinnati.
The Bearcats got their spark off the bench in Farad Cobb, who scored 18 points in 27 minutes, including the three-pointer that gave Cincinnati the lead for good with just under 13 minutes to play in the second half.
Ryan Manuel led the Mustangs with 14 points. SMU’s frontcourt struggled for most of the game – especially Ben Moore, who did not score.
The Mustangs will return to Moody Coliseum on Thursday, but it will not get much easier as Memphis comes to Dallas.
