MAVS 99 SPURS 93
The Mavericks were revealing their new member, Rajon Rondo. The San Antonio Spurs were without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker or Manu Ginobuli.
Still, it took guts and determination for Dallas to pull out a win against the short-handed defending champions at the American Airlines Center.
The Spurs led by as many as 12 points in the game, only for the Mavs to furiously come back in the second half. Rondo finished with nine assists while Monta Ellis led the way with 38 points.
Without their main trio and others out with injuries, it was the normally disciplined Spurs that ended up making mistakes that cost them in the final minutes. San Antonio turned the ball over three times and allowed two offensive rebounds that led to Mavs buckets in the final two minutes, allowing Dallas to score the last six points of the game to break a 93-93 tie.
