After jumping to a 22-2 start, the Legends saw a 26-point lead get down to three in the final seconds, but Mike James’ free throws allowed them to hold on at the Dr. Pepper Arena. James finished with 13 while Renaldo Balkman led Texas with 19 points and 16 rebounds off the bench.
Texas’ frontcourt was able to shut down Delaware’s defensively, as Justin Jackson helped hold Drew Gordon to nine points while Eric Griffin contributed a plus/minus of +21 to go with 14 points in 23 minutes. Damion James finished with 17 points.
