UTA, SMU COME HOME FOR WINS
In the end, it was a happy homecoming for all in Arlington.
Another blistering night from three-point range was able to carry UTA, as the Mavs cruised to an 87-69 Homecoming win over Houston Baptist at the College Park Center.
The Mavs shot 62 percent from beyond the arc for the game, including 73 percent in the first half. It allowed them to overcome a night where they were out-rebounded 41-32, including giving up 19 offensive rebounds.
Jamel Outler was the big gun, hitting seven of eight three-point shots for 26 points.

It was another good “homecoming” of sorts in Dallas, as SMU returned to Moody Coliseum and to winning, as the Mustangs downed Eastern Washington 77-68.
Keith Frazier returned to the starting lineup and scored 17 points while Nic Moore led the way with 22. But it was in the paint and not n the perimeter that they and the rest of the Mustangs did the damage, outscoring Eastern Washington 30-22 inside and 15-7 at the free throw line.
Just like with UTA, SMU was able to win despite getting beaten on the offensive boards again, allowing 15 offensive rebounds.
