LEGENDS 106 SANTA CRUZ 114
This time, they just didn’t have enough to come back.
A furious rally fell short, and the Texas Legends, who won their first two games of the season on the road, dropped their first game at the Dr. Pepper Arena, falling to the Warriors.
Texas trailed by as many as 19 points in the game, only to cut that all the way down to three with four minutes to go in the game.
They could not, however, get any closer than that, as Elliot Williams was fouled shooting a three pointer and made all three free throws. The Legends might have had a chance to get closer after Carrick Felix missed a three pointer with under a minute to play, but Renaldo Balkman’s pass to try and start a fast break was intercepted by Aaron Craft, and the game was pretty much sealed after that.
Doron Lamb had 23 points to lead the Legends while Eric Griffin had 20. Ricky Ledo, who got the start on an assignment from the Mavericks, finished with 14 points on 6-for-16 shooting.
