STARS 4 ARIZONA 3
Finally the breaks went the Stars’ way, and the losing streak came to an end.
Ryan Garbutt managed, of all things, a short-handed goal with less than two minutes remaining to give the Stars the 4-3 win over the Coyotes in Arizona, marking Dallas’ first win in seven games.
Dallas had to rally from down 2-0 in the first period, getting two goals in a minute, with Tyler Seguin’s power play goal tying the game with just over a minute remaining in the second.
Erik Cole then gave Dallas the lead with less than five minutes to go in the third, but MIkkel Boedker tied the game back up less than a minute later. Ultimately, though, it was to set up Garbutt’s heroic’s in the end.
Earlier in the day, the Stars traded Sergei Gonchar to Montreal for Travis Moen.
