Chandler Parsons had 20 and Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis each had 17, but it was Brandan Wright Dallas needed to lean on in the fourth quarter.
Wright scored eight of his 12 bench points in the last quarter before the starters came back to seal the Mavs’ first road win of the season, holding off the Pelicans in New Orleans.
Dallas led by as many as 17 points but saw that lead go down to three with three minutes remaining. Baskets from Parsons and Nowitzki helped keep it from getting any closer.
