MAVERICKS 120 UTAH 102
There were no worries about the need for last-second heroics that might fail this time.
With Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons both going off for 21 points, the Mavericks dispatched the Jazz fairly easily in their home opener at the American Airlines Center.
The Mavs led by as many as 30 points and maintained a lead in the 20-point range for much of the second half. The game was secured so quickly that Rick Carlisle didn’t have to play anyone for 30 minutes. Seven players scored in double figures.
In his first game back since 2011, J.J. Barea scored four pints with three assists.
