RANGERS GET WASHED AWAY
After taking the lead from a Brett Gardner home run in the third inning, the Yankees got a break from Mother Nature as rain called the game in the Bronx after five, allowing New York to get another 2-1 win over Texas.
Prior to the game, the Rangers traded closer Jokim Soria to Detroit for two pitching prospects, including Rockwall-Heath High alum Jake Thompson. Corey Knebel was also acquired.

RIDERS MANAGE THE SPLIT IN MIDLAND
After Dusty Coleman’s home run off Eric Hamren in the sixth gave the RockHounds a 7-6 win in the seven-inning first game, a two-run blast from Joey Gallo in the ninth allowed Frsico go win the second game 5-3.
