The 23-8 Mustangs took both meetings from the 16-15 Cougars, but only by a combined 11 points. The big difference: They outscored Houston a combined 86-71 in the second half of both games.
UTA vs LOUISIANA MONROE – SUN BELT TOURNAMENT
8:30 pm – Lakefront Arena, New Orleans
The Mavericks took both meetings from the Warhawks this season and have now won five of the last six games against the school that at one point dominated the Southland Conference. This is the first time the two programs have met in a tournament since UTA beat Monroe in 2004 – the first time in seven tries they won a postseason game against the school formerly known as Northeast Louisiana.
