Any fears that the Dallas Stars would just be sellers at the trade deadline should be assuaged.

The Stars acquired goalie Tim Thomas from the Florida Panthers in exchange for reserve goalie Dan Ellis.

Thomas won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011, becoming the oldest Conn Smythe Trophy winner in history. Ellis was hit for four goals, including three in the first period, in Tuesday’s loss in Columbus.
