The Rangers finally did not need a walk-off home run to beat the Angels, as Alex Rios helped break a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning by driving in Ian Kinsler and t hen scoring from second base on A. J. Pierzynski’s infield hit. The Rangers have now won all five games on the homestand so far and yet are still on the verge of trailing the Indians by a game for the last wild card spot with two to play.
Because of the all the possible insanity to the season’s end, the Rangers have had to make last-second decisions. Saturday’s game has been bumped up to 11 am due to the threat of rain in the area. Also,, it has been announced that, with Yu Darvish scheduled to start the final game on Sunday, Martin Perez would get the start for a possible tiebreaker game.
